Rhomberg's Fabrik is a former industrial space, distinguished by its 40m-high tower.

On this tower a 4m-high vertical light stick is installed at a height of approximately 34m. Red LEDs installed on the bar generate words that are perceived whenever someone looks at it while passing by. The words unfold from the tower into the surroundings. In the case of motionless observing, the light is perceived as red light strokes. The words are generated via user logins on a webpage.

The real name, as a constant of individuality, has undertaken a transformation through the Internet data space. On the Internet, every user is able to assume different and multiple identities. This idea of the mutability of identities is taken into account in the LOGIN Tower installation. A website asks the user to type in her/his login. The chosen name appears at the lighthouse. The presence in the network manifests itself as a fleetingly perceptible word floating in the real space at the LOGIN Tower. The users in the "here" of the Internet are back "there" in the real space. The virtual presence in the data space becomes public in the local reality.
